No controlling the weather.
Part of running a business is managing risk.
In crop farming, weather is a big hunk of that risk.
You get insurance have a cash reserve diversify have a backer find new revenue streams etc.
Exactly because you can’t control the weather, you can’t budget for 240 bu corn every year for 10 years straight. We need to manage the risks.
In a real business, you have to make realistic and long term projections.
You can’t control the weather. We are supposed to control the risk.
Grandpa was right most of the time.
I’d say health issues are the big uncertainty that can derail things, much more than weather ever should.
