Agree Paul. Mid to late 70's new equipment sold as fast as it hit the lot, sometimes there was a waiting list, and land prices kept going up each year. Credit was easy to get and farmers obliged the lenders. Early 80's grain embargo, interest rates up and credit dried up.
Back then those who had been conservative got to buy some cheap land and equipment at the expense of those who were highly leveraged.
