North of London | I started as a 10 year old rearranging some of the sheaves that were being pitched onto a horse drawn wagon so I was involved but only moved a few sheaves in centre of wagon load.
the guys pitching them on did most of the work
Sure was different than today riding around in an air conditioned tractor cab buggying the wheat to the dump wagons today or trucks from previous fields.
Pretty easy job for an old guy, I don't even have to roll or unroll tarps anymore the young guys look after that too
