South Central MN | '16 here was a swamp the last half of summer going into harvest, made ruts in places I'd never made ruts before. Yields weren't spectacular just from too much rain. Had beans that the standing water took off the bottom 3/4ths of the pods so they had a little cluster at the top of the stem and nothing else.
It has been wetter here but I don't have the IDC showing up like some other fields in the area do, probably the variety I planted and maybe my reduced tillage strategy with light fall tillage paid off. Helps that one field hasn't seen beans since '17 also. | |
