NW IA | We had a similar issue on a 1660 ih combine where the head would raise more slowly all the time until eventually it would no longer raise. If you increased engine rpm it would raise until one day it no longer raised at all. This occurred over a few years time
The problem was an internal crack in the header lift portion of the valve stack. Swapped out the complete stack with a used one from the salvage yard and it worked properly at all rpms. I just wonder if you have an internal fracture in your valve stack assembly? This would cause the oil to bypass the valve through the fracture leading to pressure loss. Your symptoms described are exactly the same as we experienced on the 1660.
