Are the people cherry picking the worst ears in the field? I walked some of our earlier corn and found one ear in about a dozen that I pulled that was about half pollinated. It was a late emerger that was a little smaller than average. I’m not pointing fingers just throwing that out we all know how the twitter world can exaggerate things.
Ken ferrie had it in his weekly agronomy update. It seems to be variety specific but it's in a couple national varieties. And he hadn't been in any fields with those numbers where it wasnt at least 20% that did not pollinate. That is as broad acre and impartial information as I can get on the subject. |
