We have used Menards block for a long time. Never used the ones with a lip on the back. We have a 4 foot high 20 year old wall 20 feet long and it’s still perfect. We use high end construction adhesive and so far so good
The ones we have been getting are the 5 x15 and I think 8 inch deep. They weigh about 50 pounds each
