Pittsburg, Kansas | A problem???? It appears to be if a person listens to headlines and certain influencers on Youtube.
Nick Norwitz goes over the data available and some nuance on the subject.
The doctors I listen to would much rather a person eat processed meat compared to much of the other highly processed food stuff that tends to be high in sugar and carbohydrates. I eat processed meats and am not afraid of them. Although I will also say they are not our main meat source and only a small percentage of the total meat we eat is a reasonably small percentage. We do read labels and try to avoid ones with added sugar, which is not an uncommon ingredient. If sugar is in the ingredient list but its total sugar content is zero per serving (which means it could be technically .9 of a gram because food companies are allowed to round down) we will sometimes choose it but if there is a similar product with no added sugar we will likely choose that one over it.
