| Nope. Milk cows. I spent more on drones than I care to admit over the last 10 years. That little speck in the distance is just waiting to bite you or your neighbor. Like one drone manufacturer called his website: "Exploring the world one crash at a time"
I just don't get how everyone thinks flying a drone is effortless and easy. Would you get in an airplane for a ride while someone on the ground flies it by a programed radio with hundreds if not thousands of menu options? GPS goes wonky, TX interference, improper mission plan and general confusion or lack of attention can carry a very high price tag in a few seconds. The YouTube video I referenced shows the pilot's frustration with his DJI software update that requires the operator to turn the radar on in the menu every time he changes batteries or restarts the drone. He had to figure that one out for himself after he updated the software and crashed. Defective software updates have always been a very common virtue of DJI. Stupid!
Any actual pilot will tell you flying a Radio Controlled model is much harder than flying a real airplane. Drones are easier than RC airplanes but they can both bite hard. One second of inattention can be a disaster. Most RC airfields will kick you out instantly if you try to talk to someone that is flying. I am 68 but I would never hire a drone pilot that is over 40.
When a new prop breaks with resulting massive vibration that overpowers the onboard flight controller or any other number of uncontrollable situations occur I just don't care for the feeling in my stomach as thousands and thousands of dollars flutter to earth. There are members on here that have totaled very expensive T-50 drones. I have seen Hollywood pilot/cinematographers on YouTube almost faint after they successfully film an action sequence and then land their drone with a $100,000 camera on board.
You may want to look at this and there are many more.

And yet I am still planning to get one and spray our own corn! | |
