Nwmo | On the cutting edge of treatment I agree, however you and I go to our local hospital system for treatment of cancer and we will get the standard protocol of surgery, chemo, or radiation. If you go to a KU, Mayo, or other top tier system you might get a more advanced version or maybe even an immunotherapy but insurance probably wont pay for anything that doesn't have years of studies that show some sort of efficacy that leads to an extension of life. It takes billions of dollars, multiyear studies and complete re-education to change the standard protocol for something like cancer. Before those studies are completed how many treatment protocols would be considered alternative and not worth exploring while a person suffers through maybe winning a battle with cancer through standard protocol but ultimately losing the war.
As far as I have seen cancer treatment success is not measured in cure or not cured, it's measured in how much extra time we gave the patient.
As a total aside I just became aware of a treatment called BioShield, basically they program the T cells to attack cancer. Anyone with Cancer should probably take a look at it seems to be legitimate even if it is alternative.
