| DJI had a cloud program that everyone used for video editing with DJI camera equipped drones. No one realized it uploaded all the video to DJI. (The very early drones used a GoPro that could have its own program that did not upload to DJI. The later drones had very, very sophisticated DJI cameras with proprietary editing programs that uploaded to DJI.)
Congress is stopping DJI imports claiming they are using Slave labor. No one believes it for a second. They want DJI products out of the U.S. and they are using the slave labor angle to do it. Sort of like getting Al Capone on income tax.
I have not followed the DJI story as closely as when I used to make drone videos but as I recall this is what started the fight between DJI and the U.S. government. You can probably find out a lot with google. It was quite a few years ago that congress banned or tried to ban the Fish and Wildlife service from using DJI drones for security reasons.
Just for fun: DJI is notorious for terrible customer service. The CEO has been known to answer the telephone and engage in verbal combat with his customers. He never looses either. | |
