South Central Iowa | I've had old splices arc/burn/corrode and cause similar problems. Can you test the theory by bypassing the overhead to see if that will fix it? Copper wire like Romex is not for electric fencers, either. Fought that problem at a neighbor's once. Romex going up a pole barn pole, out under the ridge cap, and attaching to an overhead wire. Lost the current, couldn't find a short. Current was jumping through the insulation to the tin roof. | |
