I watched a plane fly a field last year. I bet most of the time he was 100 foot over the field.
Probably 300 ft over in places, as he was above the hills and trees. Most of the hills in that area are 300 ft or slightly more within a short horizontal distance.
Considering the terrain, I might not blame the pilot, but why bother if that is what you are going to do?
That is also why some farms do not get fungicide any more.
Can't blame the drone guy for not coming when 100 acres of mine would be a good day and he can do 600 or more elsewhere.

I hear these stories but I have never seen anyone fly a field like that. I know some guys fly higher than others but anyone that does what you said you saw won’t be in business very long because that’s far from the norm and not effective at all.

Thank you for the insight on application height. I can say for sure that 50ft is about the minimum any run around me from any company, just judging by eyeball. They may get down to 25 over a ridge, but every plane I've seen tries to stay significantly above the powerline height so they do not have to pull up at the end of the field.
