I think most engineers put the fuel tank right where the problem area of the tractor was going to be so the mechanics knew where the weak spot was at lol. Most mechanics love removing fuel and then the tank or tanks*****

That's why I absolutely hate rear mount fuel tank's, especially ones that wrap around the rear axle...for extra capacity. (Face palm) Plus they are a dust /mud collecting nightmare.
