SC Nebraska		There are charts for belt capacity worth looking up.

In general, big pulleys are better than small. More traction, more belt speed, less belt tension for given load.

I think you want LONG belts, and concentrate on getting tight side of belts square.

AND point the engine the “right” way or the pump will put water INTO the creek.
