New Holland recommends removing all rust and paint from the grooves of the lower pulley during predelivery and afterwards. I also loosen the tension on the belt. Instead of having 6" or more of thread sticking past the adjusting nut, I tighten the nuts until there is only @ 2" of thread past the nuts.
