Depends your needs, wants, equipment.
For me larger drums just means more mass. Psi per sq in is very similar. I am told in wet conditions the larger roller goes thru more. *but why are you going thru water?*
I rented 3’ roller +40 ft wide. It pushed my tractor on turns, did fine. I bought +40ft Harms 2’ diameter. Much more pleasant to run, tractor handles it effortlessly. Added less then 50 gallons to center roller. *it seemed lite, neighbor said he does that as well *.seems plenty on my soil.
Checked frame, bearings, that it had not been left full of water over winter. *it had some water but no visible damage*
Next spring I plan to put in 50 gallons waste oil. Then forget about it.
