Subject: Deere 2750 selective control

My Deere 2750 has a poppet type valve controlling the hydraulic remote. On top of this valve is a plate which acts to limit the lever in both directions. Usually I want to activate the remote momentarily, to operate a thumb on the loader. Right now, however, I want to the lever to hold position, in order to supply power to an hydraulic feed motor on a chipper. Should I remove or reposition that plate ? I seem to recall seeing instructions once detailing how to use the stop plate and how it should interact with the little cam that's bolted to the lever.
Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
