I decided the best way to proceed with this might be to set the power unit beside the pump shaft. Mount pulleys on pump drive shaft and Rockford pto shaft and run belts between the 2 pulleys. (Red circles on the pictures show where multi groove pulleys would mount. I do plan to put another support bearing on the end of that pump drive shaft, don’t plan to just let that end get supported by one bearing.
2 questions: 1) is the bearings in that Rockford bell housing pto going to be able to handle side load the belt setup would put on it vs a standard rotating driveshaft??
2) How many groove pulley would I need to transfer up to 60 HP? Planned on using a “B” profile belt. 4 grooves? 5 grooves?
