Mount Vernon, WA | If the batteries truly are isolated via the disconnect switches, and the batteries keep going dead when they sit for a week, then you have at least one faulty battery. To figure out which one is bad, charge them all up by using the machine, and then at the end of the day isolate the batteries from each other by disconnecting all of the ground or hot wires, whichever is more convenient. Let it sit overnight and then check the voltage on each battery individually the next day. If they're fairly new as you say, they should be between 12.6 and 13.0 volts. Anything significantly lower than 12.6 volts indicates a bad battery with most likely an internal short. | |
