Walla Walla, WA | We always used Keenserts. Looks like a threaded pipe inside and outside. Drill the proper hole, clean out the shavings, tap and install the Keensert with the special tool. Can Loctite in place if needed. The problem we had with Heli-coils are that when the bolt was tightened "tight" then removed the Heil-coil would screw out with the bolt, usually damaging the internal threads.. Keeenserts need a larger hole drilled than Heli-coils though. Paul | |
