I don't know your situation at all but I bet they managed to cultivate and then harvest 30 years ago with way worse headers than we have now.
I managed quite well with harvesting soybeans that were ridged up as part of my ridge till operation. The soil clods and rocks tended to bounce off the deep shields and roll back into the valleys while smooth granular soil rolled under the shields rebuilding the ridges for next year. The soybeans were harvested with a row crop head cutting them cleanly with little problems from rocks. |
