| I was switching out a 220 outlet the other night. The ground from the outlet would spark on the ground bar in the panel.
None of the outlet wires were hooked up and nothing was plugged in to it.
The panel was hot and I had some over head lights on.
The fewer lights I had on the smaller the spark. There was still a small spark with nothing on.. It is possible a computer or other small load may have been on an outlet, but I thought I had those breakers off.
I could see where there could be some voltage difference from the ground side of the panel to a perfect ground, but to a basically unconnected wire?
A nasty storm was coming through, if that matters. | |
