Northeastern Pa. | My first tractor was a 3130 bought when it was 6 years old at a local consignment auction. I still have it. Mine is a 76 model and has a different style hood than the newer ones but different than a 2840. It was my big tractor for a few years, Never had hydraulic issues like I had with a 2940. I did rebuild the high low 2x since I've had it and the engine once. I bought it for 1/2 the price of a 2840 at the time. I got parts and tech. manuals and never had problems getting parts. My wife preferred it over the 2940. They moved the seat ahead on the 2940 and your knees would hit the shift lever. Tried moving the seat back then couldn't' push the clutch in. We sold both 2940's and still have the 3130 so that tells you we liked it better. I have always had issues with the rockshaft/3pt. and finally just removed the lower arms. Very simple tractor that is a strong 80hp vs a new 80 hp.. It's done everything from 4 bottom plow work to tedding hay etc.. | |
