Faunsdale, AL | The only pressure source on a rear mounted SCV valve I know of is by installing a “power-beyond” spacer block between the SCV and the rockshaft housng. It’s the perfect way to add a loader valve on the 69-up JD tractors. It puts the loader on the downstream side of the priority valve like it’s supposed to be.
I have my 4320 valve plumbed like you describe with the power-beyond spacer as the pressure source and the ported filter cover as the return. I used both of those because I already had them. It could cost $5-700 for those parts if you had to buy them new from Deere My neighbor has a 4320 that has the pressure line plumbed in from under the cowling with a notch cut out for the hose to come through. I’ve never looked closely to see where it actually hooks into the system. I’m sure it was cheaper than buying a spacer block from Deere.
The old pre-1969 tractors really needed hooking up with a fitting in the pressure lines somewhere before the rockshaft valve. I think they’re usually done by replacing a 90* elbow with a T near the brake pedals. | |
