Should be okay for the tasks you mentioned. BITD, 2840s were not well thought-of. Too big to be a nimble utility tractor; too small to do field work. Not the best in hydraulic capacity either. We used to joke that Deere took back 2010s, melted them down, and made 2840s out of them...
