Ross County, Ohio | Great advice. We had a couple guys show up here a couple years ago, that were trying sell solar. We ended up doing a zoom meeting a few days later. My wife was all in, but I had done my research on all of it. The company was from out of state and didn't have good reviews. Plus, once I crunched the numbers, we were better off staying with AEP. They wanted to do a 25 year lease to own with the payment increasing 3% annually. First year was $242 monthly and we still had to keep AEP. A battery array to collect for over night was extra. They wanted $54K to buy out right and wanted to pick where we would put it and have free run to come in whenever they wanted for checking the system. I said,"No! Not happening, Your company doesn't have a good reputation and your information doesn't match what I've researched on the subject." I'm not opposed to solar power, but I don't think the technology is where it needs to be yet. The current panels are only 20-25% efficient in producing usable energy. There are systems in development that are 40-50%. Get that number to 70-80% and I'll be the first to sign up. | |
