Subject: Macdon fd70 noise from drum and upgrades

Couple things here, cutting wheat with a new to me macdon fd70 I heard a lot of banging from the drum area. Nothing rubbing or anything that I can see. I found a crack underneath on the adapter and was going to pull the head apart to check and weld everything up properly. Wondering if anyone has any experience on what I might be hearing in that drum? Also, while I have the head apart, what are some good upgrades to make to this head? I feel like I got it bought right and from what I’ve read there’s enough similarities between this and a fd75 or fd1 that I’d rather just know what I have in this one and put the money in it.
