Subject: Sisal twine- plastic twine

ncia
I have a new holland 575 small square baler. I’ve never used plastic twine but would like to try it for extra strength. Sometimes very tight bales will just pop even with good sisal twine.

Do I have to do anything different with my baler using plastic twines? Can I just tie it on to the last ball of sisal or should I start right away and re-thread my baler with the plastic? What are pros and cons of either. I sell the straw now but when I had livestock I didn’t want plastic because it never ever rotted away if you didn’t happen to collect it all.
