Faunsdale, AL | The ported transmission filter cover that JD sells was introduced for the utility tractors to be able to have more hydraulic capacity.
Apparently the utility tractors were not designed to return flow from the rockshaft and SCV’s to the charge pump-filter-front pump/oil cooler circuit like the rowcrop tractors (3020,4020) were. The ported filter cover creates a good place to return into the circuit.
