NCKS | Winter annuals in the rotation make the problem worse unless you want to do full on pres then still 2 post applications on fallow ground. Could till it, but next to impossible to grow good dryland corn and soybeans with full tillage "here."
I cultivated for my first time besides hilling for flood irrigation the other day. Was going after volunteer corn in a corn field. It was fun but I was less than impressed with the job that I was doing. Probably need wider sweeps. These were probably 18 inches? We have several 8 and 12 row cultivators. We could do it if we needed to. We will not do it until we need to. 3 passes of overlapping residuals works much better and is cheaper.
