Northwest Iowa | I bought a Hiniker 6000 a couple years ago after not doing any cultivating for 20 years or more. Started just doing some troublesome patches the first year and now I'm covering everything. With 20 inch sweeps on 30 inch rows I figured I'd kill 2/3 of the waterhemp. In reality it seems that I am killing 90%+. If I'm going to cultivate anyway, I'm looking at going back to banded herbicides next year. Virtually all contour and haven't been able to get satisfactory results with AutoPath Autosteer yet. Probably go to active implement guidance. Using a guidance hitch for now. 12 row cultivator covers about 200 acres a day in contour. | |
