SENE | Our part of nebraska is all terraced. We would be lucky to cover 50acres a day. I plant in 22inch rows so that would even be more challenging. I agree with the plowing theory as I plowed the inside of some terraces this spring and the waterhemp was pretty much non existent where I plowed but that isn't a free and easy process either. I think a three crop rotation with a winter annual would break the cycle of the weeds but there is such a financial penalty that its almost impossible to plant it anymore. I've farmed 20years now and it is amazing how things have become such problems that didn't exist when I first started. | |
