Subject: RE: Kerrville Texas

A long time ago an old man told me about a guy that owned a lot of land on the little river bottom. It was in the early 1920 time period. He had farmers working for him on what they called day leases. He had a rule that before dark everybody had to take the equipment and mules to high ground. They had no warning systems just common sense. You can enjoy the river bottoms during the day for an outing, but going to sleep there at night is taking a calculated risk. The kids at the camps were only relying on adult guidance, but the adult campers probably knew they were taking a slight risk.
