I’m not sure a holiday weekend is a good gauge of wealth. Many consumers love their credit cards. And they enjoy having 2 or 3 of them, close to maxed out, make minimum payments and go on. This is normal and/or acceptable to them. Everyone has a comfort level, but this country has become entirely too comfortable with debt.
July 4th 2025 weekend- busiest travel period in history.
