| There was one night in 2008 where we were working until 4 am building engines. The low areas were flooded but the main roads were still open,when I went to work,between 5 pm when we started our shift and 4 am when we got done there were many road closures,and some blacktops had gotten washed out but looked like there was just 6-12 inches of water on them. some of us had to drive 50 miles to get home 20 miles away.If you didn't know the area you could have gotten stranded easily.A lot of camps and parks are near rivers for recreation purposes, it would be easy to make a bad choice at night if you didn't know the region. | |
