NW Wyoming | There are a couple of ways to do it. I assume it extends the cylinders to lift the boom. After the cylinders are extended all the way to lift the boom, you can remove the hoses from the rod ends of the cylinders being careful of the trapped oil in the lines as you loosen the fitting so you don't inject yourself with hydraulic oil. Plug the hose ends going to the cylinders and try to raise the booms again. The leaky cylinder will let oil past the piston and out of the open rod end fitting constantly after the cylinder has been fully extended. The other way is to plumb a high pressure needle valve into the line between the cylinders and the valve and after you raise the booms, shut off the valve. If it doesn't leak down with the needle valve closed, then the spool valve is the problem. The first way is a more messy way but will tell what you need to know with one test. | |
