Kind of sounds like you either have high freon pressure (which could also signal that you have air in your freon), or you could have a bad high pressure switch ( which may be sticking). These are the first things I would check before diving deeper.
Was thinking the same thing when i read that post .
Id put gages on it and see when fan kicks on .
good rule of thumb is fan on at 350 + _
off at 200 + _.
Some trucks are programmed to run the fan a period of time so fan wont short cycle .
One sure way to see would be to plug in laptop and see what pressure the can ECM is getting .
At JB , i would do that first to see what the ECM was using for inputs .
