I was diagnosed with AFib a couple years back and at that time I had a shock to restore my rhythm. Afib came back in a few months and I just live with it , doesn't really bother me too much. Dr. put me on Eliquis blood thinner to help decrease the chance of a stroke. I don't remember the exact percentage improvement they claim but I've always wondered it a baby aspirin or a full size one work as well in place of the Elliquis. Elliquis is really expensive and they kind of scare you into taking it as everyone is afraid of having a stroke so you just go with it. What's everyone think about aspirin vs Elliquis or some other blood thinner? I wonder if I wouldn't get approximately the same reduction in chance of a stroke with just using aspirin. BUT, it I would have a stroke, it could possibly be a huge burden on whoever is taking care of me so I wouldn't want to put that on someone unnecessarily or possibly loose the farm for long term care.
