 Thumb of Michigan | Spend a little time on the Medicare.gov website. Go to the drug only (Part D), where you can put in your drugs used, local pharmacy and it will give you the pricing for numerous plans. Both monthly insurance cost and drug cost at the different pharmacies you inputted.
Advantage plans a pushed hard, IF you never have any health problems, they seem cheaper. However, at end of life where medical expenses have a tendency to skyrocket, look out. Anyone who thinks an insurance company can negotiate better/cheaper/wider (area) coverage than Medicare good luck.
As a case in point, my BIL, who switched to an Advantage plan is experiencing the forementioned problems with coverage, ability to get procedure approved, etc. right now. Hasn't got the co-pay bills yet. | |
