Alpena MI | As much of a learning curve starting to fatten cattle has been, I'm not sure about the cow calf business on top of that. I was 8 when Dad sold the dairy farm and I was 28 when my brother and I decided to start finishing cattle. I grew up helping neighbors on their dairy farms occasionally but that was the extent of my cattle experience until 5 years ago. We have about 80 head on feed now (and 1 pig at the moment).
