Malta, Illinois | It would have been nice to hear what some of the administration's ideas or plans are to benefit agriculture. We didn't hear much of that. He mentioned how he has saved 2 billion farms with the estate tax and capital gains provisions that are extended from 2017. That is certainly helpful for ag but beyond that his speech was a gross display of arrogance and hatred while taking a victory lap with the passing of his Big Bloated Bill. Can't blame the guy for celebrating a little with a win like that. The most disturbing thing for me was not once but twice he said that he really hates democrats. I give him credit for at least being honest and telling the truth no matter how dark it is. Let's be honest, there are lots of people who hate Trump which is disturbing too. I was raised to have a deep respect for the word "hate" and how it is used. Jesus taught us not to hate. You can disagree with someone and flat out really not like them but professing hatred for someone is altogether a different matter. Hating someone goes against everything that Jesus taught. You are not supposed to hate even your enemies. I could be wrong but I don't ever recall another United States President saying that they hated someone. As heated as things have been between dems and Trump I cannot recall a democrat standing in a public forum or addressing a group of people and declaring that they hate Donald Trump. I'm sorry to make a mountain out of a mole hill but our President declaring his hatred for a group of citizens of this country is beyond disturbing for me. | |
