North central TX | The nursing homes and hospitals are all worked up and "the sky is falling" over the threat of tightening the purse strings to cut waste and theft.
The nursing homes are 99% for profit businesses that make exorbitant profits for their owners by grifting the taxpayers via medicare/medicaid. Many of them have their residents living in near squalor, with piss poor care, and bill the highest amounts possible for services they often don't provide.
Hospitals are guilty of the same thing in many cases. Come in for a minor ailment, and they throw every test in the book at you to "rule out" issues and charge the government for it.
The issue I see, is that sometimes those things are necessary, but not easily explainable. How do we navigate that? Some people are always going to cheat. Greed is a powerful sin! | |
