Engagement override valve could be sticking. The safety feature that will let you start tractor in gear and not run over someone. Have to cycle clutch pedal once and then ready to go. A test of clutch pressure port should tell you, not system pressure. If that is good then splines on shaft on 2 speed could be stripped out.
