It’s all in the angles.

I doubt you’re going to be able to accomplish what would be needed to use a normal u joint driveshaft. When you hook up the shaft, the two joints need to have the same angle. This can be deflected in the same direction or in opposite directions but if the angles are equal they’ll cancel each other out.

If your pump was shorter so it didn’t extend up so high out of the creek or there was a high berm to park the rear of the tractor on, you could get the angle of the joint closer to the tractor to match the one closer to the pump.

In any case, the shaft will need shortened.

A CV jointed shaft will solve a lot of your problems and you won’t have to build stands to park the tractor on to such exact dimensions.
