NNW Nebraska | Changed a tire on my f150. Alloy wheels so I thought I should use a torque wrench. Looked it up on the internet. Says 150 ft lbs. I thought that was plenty tight. Tighten until torque wrench clicked. Went around again, had to tighten more to get the click. Another round, same thing. Thought my torque wrench was tightening to tight. Got all new bolts. Went to my other shop where I have a nearly new MAC torque wrench. Took wheel off. 1 bolt twisted off when removing the wheel. Put all new bolts in. (From NAPA). Twisted off one of the new bolts. I talked to a tire shop, he said they torque them to 125 ft lbs and never have any trouble | |
