Subject: JD 7410 trans input shaft seal ,,,

coast of Maine
We have a 7410 that all at once started to leak copious trans fluid.Had just enough fluid to get it on a low bed in maybe 1 minute of moving it out of the field .Put 5 gallons in back at the shop (while it was still on the lowbed) to try and see where the leak is.The seal (which looks like an ordinary shaft seal)was loose and popped partially out.I know the seal is bad as its loose in its seating BUT does the copious flow from this worn seal indicate other issues in the trans?I am wondering how this simple seal holds back that much flow,,its not seemingly pressurized but you need a bath after a second of checking for the issue. What I am concerned of is replacing the seal and having it blow out again with this flow. The input shaft seems to be quite firm ,with no side to side movement.Quad range trans.
