NW IL | We were hauling wheat into ADM at Mendota today straight from the field. I've got a neighbor doing the harvesting. His combine and testers were reading about 14% and it was going through the combine like it was dry.
I had too many irons in the fire to catch things before 5pm, but we sent 3 trucks of wheat in that supposedly got wetter as the day went. 17.9-19%. When I finally got back from running around and to the field and got a sample from the combine to a couple local elevators they all said it was around 14%.
19% at ADM vs 3 local commercial testers at 14%! And getting wetter as the day went at 90F, a breeze and 50% humidity!!
Tomorrow I'm sending trucks to get tested locally before delivering to ADM. And calling to complain.
Anyone else deliver to ADM at Mendota today and have similar issues?
