| Looking at these cultivated beans, they look to be about V3-V4, maybe pushing V5 in spots, with good stem flexibility yet.
If you’ve only found 1 broken stem so far, I’d keep going carefully:
Midday when they’re limber is best (warm, sunny, not in the morning with turgid stems).
Keep your ground speed down so the roller doesn’t bounce.
If it’s dry, watch for stem breakage from brittle conditions, but if humidity is decent you’ll have less snapping.
We’ve rolled beans up to V5-V6 to push rocks without major issues, but you will always lose a few tops. You just don’t want to do it if they’re blooming or setting pods.
If it’s only for rock pushdown, and you’re only seeing a handful of breaks, it’s worth finishing to save your head later in the season.
