| If it’s Western Red Cedar, it’ll make a sharp-looking deck, but it’s soft and not very strong for heavy loads. It’ll cut easy and look great, but it dents, splits, and wears fast under equipment tires, especially if you’re hauling skid steers, tractors, or anything with sharp edges.
Cedar is great for fence boards, barn siding, or lightweight utility trailers, but for a car trailer deck, especially if you’re loading more than lawn mowers, you’ll want something tougher like oak, ash, or even treated pine if you’re on a budget. | |
